This page provides a summary of the safety precautions that we will take during the school year. Our Covid safety standards are changing rapidly but we will always follow the most conservative advice of the Department of Health, LWTech, and OPEP. The following are our current standards, please note they are subject to change as the state of the pandemic changes.

We have successfully held in-person classes (indoor and outdoor) since September of 2020 without Covid ever transmitting amongst our families at school.  We have been fortunate and our families and teachers have been very diligent about following the latest health standards.

Children at RTG are at the age where we expect them to get sick regularly as they build their immune systems against typical childhood illnesses, but we will do our best not to have illnesses spread around our classes.

Our safety precautions will continue to minimize the risk of exposure to Covid and other illnesses.

  • Please stay home if you or your child are sick.  Communicate openly with your teacher if it is possible that you or your child were contagious with Covid or some other communicable illness at school.
  • Please stay home if your child is acting off and may become ill, even if you are not sure yet.
  • Please consider staying home or testing and wearing a mask to school if you have recently been in a high exposure situation such as plane travel.
  • Stay home for the appropriate amount of time and test after a known exposure before returning to school.
  • Keep your family up to date with the latest boosters and immunizations (we no longer track this for adults).

INDOOR CLASSES

We will continue-

  • To monitor indoor air quality, use heap filters, and increase fresh air ventilation when called for.
  • Ask everyone to wash hands upon arrival, before eating, and before leaving.
  • To wash and disinfect mouthed toys.
  • Disinfect high touch areas regularly.
  • Have increased classroom cleanings.
  • Smaller class sizes.
  • Only registered adults and children may attend.  Guests must be approved by the teacher ahead of time.

OUTDOOR CLASSES

We will continue-

  • Smaller class sizes.
  • Clean supplies used between classes.
  • Encourage hand washing and use of hand sanitizer.
  • Only registered adults and children may attend.  Guests must be approved by the teacher ahead of time.
