Come and learn about the indoor classes we will be offering. We outline the different activities you and your toddler can expect during your class time.

Introduce your child (4-42 months) to a semi-structured classroom setting, while being close by. As a parent education cooperative, we are unique in that parents are able to experience and participate in their child’s first classroom experience. Our program offers teacher-led discussions and parent education based on age-appropriate topics that your child is experiencing. Moreover, all of our classes are led by one of our experienced teachers.

  • Classes are 90 minutes to 2.5 hours depending on age of class
  • Classes have 12-14 families
  • We follow strict health guidelines (attestation, temperature checks) which may change or phase out by September 2022

Class Descriptions and What to Expect

Bunnies Class
4-15 months

Designed for new parents or parents who want to introduce their little ones to a group classroom setting. We provide a safe environment for infants and waddlers to explore and play. Circle time and parent education are in the same room with your child. Classes typically begin with a sensory activity or art project that becomes a wonderful keepsake. Our Bunnies class has its own unique age-appropriate toys that are not shared with other classes.

Squirrels Class
12-24 months

A fun class for families who want to introduce their child to a semi-structured classroom environment. We start each class with an art project that helps children develop their fine motor skills. Circle time begins with bubbles, songs, musical instruments, and puppets.  Children are free to move around and explore their environment. Our classroom has age-appropriate toys and will change as the year progresses to meet the developmental needs of the children.

Squirrels + is run with the same activities and curriculum as a Squirrels class but for a slightly older age range.  If your child participated in Squirrels this year, please move on to one of our older classes like Beavers or Elks.  Some exceptions will be made with instructor approval.

Beavers Class
24-36 month

Our Beavers class offers play-based, structured activities and opportunities for free play and social interaction with peers. Our goal is to increase the confidence and skills of children as they prepare to move into preschool. Circle time includes songs and show and tell. The arts and crafts allow children to experience and practice fine motor skills and to have a variety of sensory experiences. Expectations of children include participating with a caregiver during circle time, learning to communicate with adults other than their caregiver, and working on separating from the caregiver during parent education.

Elk Class
30-42 months

Our Elk class is designed for our oldest toddlers. It offers play-based, structured activities, opportunities for free play and social interaction with peers, as well as an introduction to some early preschool concepts in literacy, science, and math. The additional class time offers the opportunity for an experiential art or science activity and a longer separation from their caregiver during parent education times. Children in this class are often enrolled in a preschool; this class gives parents the opportunity to see their children in a school setting and participate in a fun class together. Expectations of children include participating with a caregiver during circle time, learning to communicate with adults other than their caregiver, and working on separating from the caregiver during parent education.

Raccoons Class, Family class, Class B
12-36 months

Our evening class is ideal for families with busy day schedules, multiple siblings, or working families. The family class is open to one or both parents attending with a toddler who will be 12 months by 8/31. Sibling(s) up to the age of 5 is welcome with teacher approval. Limited sibling spots for a younger child under 12 months as of 8/31.
