The teachers at Redmond Toddler Group are responsible for creating and implementing weekly classroom activities and parenting education. Employed by Lake Washington Technical College (LWTech), each teacher is a vocationally certified parent education instructor, who has a bachelor’s degree. Amy Bodie
Amy Bodie is an alumni at Redmond Toddler Group. She is excited to re-engage with this community as a parent educator. She hopes to provide a place for parental support and an engaging environment for toddlers. Prior to joining Redmond Toddler Group, Amy was a teacher in the Bellevue School District. One of her favorite parts of being a teacher was doing home visits and getting an opportunity to connect with her students and their families before the new school year. Every year, Amy is excited to connect with new and old students at Redmond Toddler Group. She hopes to guide and help other parents during the early years, as programs like PEPS and RTG was helpful for her.
Ann Gugat
Redmond Toddler Group is a place near and dear to Ann’s heart. She has many fond memories during her time as a student and has created lifelong friendships after completing the program with her two children. Prior to becoming a teacher at Redmond Toddler Group, Ann worked in midwifery. She enjoyed educating her clients most on health education, which she believed empowered her patients to take control of their own health and care. This in turn would help parents become better advocates for their children in the future. In addition to her midwifery experience, Ann has volunteered as a teacher in health and parenting classes for homeless mothers. She has taught English, childbirth education, and health in Nicaragua and Guatemala. Every year, Ann looks forward to meeting new families and their children.
Jasmin Joshi-Maharjan
Jasmin Joshi-Maharjan is a mother of two wonderful girls and an Alumni of Redmond Toddler Group. She has many happy memories associated with RTG and is thrilled to be back as a parent educator. Jasmin is originally from Nepal where she completed a Master’s in Business Administration and Certificate in ECE. She is always passionate about working with young children. She was a preschool teacher there until she moved to the US in 2010. To pursue her passion, she earned an Associate Degree in ECE from Bellevue College. She worked for the Bellevue School District as an instructor assistance and has subbed for The Ark Childcare in Bellevue as a preschool teacher. Currently, she is also working for Lake Washington School District. Jasmin enjoys working with children because she believes that every child is unique and every day is a new day to learn and grow together. She hopes to support families in the community to meet the needs of the whole child.
